We offered a proposal to our parents in our circular. The relevant paragraph of the
circular is extracted here.
" What we are about to propose is the most radical change. We are planning to take over the entire responsibility of transporting every student to La Chatelaine from and to their homes.No parent would be required to accompany their children to the School or pick them up at the end of the day. We have taken this drastic decision viewing the remorselessly worsening traffic chaos... To save our childrens' limbs and to give you some precious piece of mind we have taken up the plan of total transportaion"

Really useful for parents like us, who are not covered by the bus routes, presently. Keep going.
This is indeed a very good idea and we prefer this most, but please provide transport till the nearest point, as we are inside Ramapuram, and the bus stop is very far of and it is difficult during rainy season. But other school buses and vans come inside our street, if there is a door pick up and drop it would be really helpful as there are 2 children from the same house and 3 children from the same street. 1)Providing Transportation - Really a good idea as it saves everyone from the morning traffic.
2)Monsoon vacation - As a parent we personaly feel that the one month vacation is an ideal one (which you are currenlty following). We request you to to continue that.

It is really a good solution for the daily commuting, while i agree with this, there is one cliche, i find that my childs 2 hrs in a day is going on traveling to and fro to school, where as when we drop or pick her up,it is hardly 20 mts both put together, i think you need to look into this too.

With the prevailing traffic conditions and also the safety of the child, it is a really good idea to arrange transport for every child in the school. Also, I place my appreciation that the present transport facility for the children offered are good that there is no overcrowding in the official bus of La chatelaine and request to continue the same facility without much hardships to the children as well. If you can consider the transportation fees geographically, it would providing much rationale to the parents for them to consider the safety of their child and shift from the other public transports and adhere to your ideas.
Transportation - Really a good idea. Already my elder son is availing this facility. I have enrolled my younger one also.I got a request. In our flat, there are five children studying in La Chatelaine, if there is a door pick up and drop it would be really helpful
Monsoon vacation - Both of us are working, so we personaly feel that the one month vacation is best (which you are currenlty following). Becuase we use to plan good vacation for children. Suppose its going to 3 vacations, no ample time can be spent with our children. We request you to to continue that.
this is a good arrangement keep in view the amount of traffic jam created by vehicles of parents coming to drop their kids. Added to that, no discipline is followed by the parents while dropping them inside the campus. They should see this as an opportunity to play their part in saving the fuel for the country...

Regarding all the ammendments proposed - Excellent !!.But I have a totally different issue.My Son in LKG S Saravan Coumar was on anf off with sickness (cold, cough , Once even Typhoid etc.,) the past entire year.I could think of only 1 thing, Water. Since his birth water has to be well boiled and change in water his body doesn't tollerate.Though I had confirmed from the school that the water being supplied to kids is well purified I would like to send a water bottle along. Pls consider this a special case and give permission.

We, the parents of K. Janani (III ‘B’Roll no: 061866) and K. Jagan (UKG ‘H’Roll no: 061640) first of all feel very happy and much satisfied about Lachatelaine’s Rules and Regulations. Our children are here in this institution for the past three years.
Now we would let you know our humble suggestions, so that it would help the benefit of the parents and students of our school.
(1) It would be beneficial if the K.G timings do not mingle with that of classes
I to V Standard instead of your revised next academic school timings. It would also be difficult for parents to collect their kids at different timings.
(2) We as working parents, our request is to provide a crèche facility in the school at least till the end of school’s working hours. It would also help parents to collect their ward at one time for those who have two children studying in the school whose dispersal timings may differ.
(3) As far as your October ’08 letter’s concern, we were very happy about your transportation facilities and also satisfied about the fee structure inclusive of transporting charges.
We now came to know from your notice board that you are postponing the idea of compulsory transportation. On this aspect we would like to know about the fee structure for the next academic year.
(4) We found that the present system of Electronic ID card is not so successful through our children who lose their IDs often since the strip in their shirt gets loosen soon. We would like to prefer the prior method of the ID which they wore on to their neck tied onto a rope. Also it was quite visible and the photo was much bigger is size for identification.
We suggest all these to benefit the school’s progress on the whole. We would like to hear from you soon, so that we are clarified of our doubts and answers for the suggestions given.

This indeed is a great idea ,but it must be reasonable and convenient. There is sure prestige involved in going in a schoolbus but door to door drop atleast in main roads will surely be needed. I live in Vadapalani and look forward to the proposal.

you very well know that this is one of the finest schools located in our area.people would like to know about the campus,playground,dining hall,library in your school when they opt your school for their kids as a place for getting education.it is necessary for the parents to look at the atmosphere of their children.kindly look up to this issue and take necessary steps if you really think it is acceptable.
