My dear Brothers and Sisters

My blog is on behalf of the educational institution "La Chatelaine Junior College ". I am a laggard in the race of Bloggers. Though I have been working for over fifteen years I have never got round to taking a look about what my fellow netizens are doing to be heard and seen. I have been a honorary Principal for over thirty years. Now my school calls me Correspondent . I am Asiatic, female,Hindu and senior citizen to boot.
My blog on behalf of this educational institution will share with you the political, geographical ,cultural and commercial news that have their shadows cast in the student community. My first poser to you is my school's entry to the "ThinkQuest " competition 2008.Our team did a project under the Geography section titled "The best places are not found on maps" The Thinkquest judges have disqualified the entry calling it objectionable and defamatory.
Please Click "THE PROJECT" and give your opinions about it.

I have browsed your project and I find nothing either offensive or objectionable. In my opinion Thinkquest has been unfair.

I am very unhappy to see that such a website with different thought is been rejected. Children of this institution should be very much disappointed and it should have been a great shock to them. The institution is participating in this competition for the last few years, and they should be very well aware of all the rules and regulations of Think Quest, it is not acceptable that they have provided objectionable informations this time. It will be nice that the judges do have a look at it once again, so they would get the correct idea of what the children what's to present.

The best places are not found on maps is very true and all the information provided in this website with correct supporting documents shows the bad state of our world. Think Quest's rejection of this web site shows that they are not ready to accept what is true and what is the world we live in. It is a sad part on them to reject such a good site with different thought.

It is really bad that such a wonderful project created by those little hands had been disqualified.. But Ma'm I guess before acceptance of something great there always has to be rejection... The Indian Histroy in itself says it..Wasn't Gandhi called a dog by the British but isn't he the Father of our nation?.. weren't the many freedom fighters termed as criminals before they were given respect and love?Let this not discourage our school.. and let it not discourage the students.. rejection comes before acceptance... Let me also add that it is indeed a disgrace that it is the most educated who need the education.. Some don't recognise talent when they see talent.. but that does not mean no one will recognise it... Hope is all we need here.. Give the Students hope ma'm... I learnt to hope from LC and so I guess that's what I'm asking you to do.. HOPE!!! The school is filled with future lawwyers, engineers, doctors, teachers, soldiers, business men.. i cn go on n on abt wat students from LC have become... All of you gave us hope and I wish you give the same to my juniors studying in LC... Take care Ma'm.. Believe in the strenght of Students... teach them to believe in themselves.... and have HOPE

The project was satisfactory to me but still in that they can include lots of information wider than those included in this topic for example:- topic Asia there are lots of tiny atoll islands and lots of interesting, exciting reefs lagoons and sand banks in the region, Like wise get as much as information on the areas that covers, as this is the time of information technology era. still i really congratulate the minds of the students and the teachers who help them.
Madam give more inspiration, confidence
and hopes for them, as before Madam. I have got the inspiration and confidence from LC . I am a topography and oceanography serveyor by profession.Best wishes to all the students and the staff Of LC.

When Dr.Abdul Kalam can be refused a second term certainly the rejection of "This project" is nothing surprising. All projects need not be certified by an authority and Institutional Parents called TEachers, Parents, Students, Management of LC has very much put in their thoughts and it has come out in a best presentation. In future, if these projects are created, as a parent of my child studying in LC , i humbly request you to involve a Parent representatives and I can possibly try to present and position in various overseas countries Malaysia, Korea or Singapore to get THE RECOGNITION than by Indian bodies who know the creativity of such YOUNG MINDS and team work OF THE THINKTANKS. Recognition need not come from bodies rather we should take that they have created an opportunity for our LC, children and team to exhibit their talents.

i like this school a lot.but one thing i dislike is they are not allowing to wear the colour dress during class day party and even studies are not that much strict when compared to other schools

La Chatelaine has been consciously trying not to join the endless list of schools interested in fleecing parents in terms of fees etc., from the beginning...I hope the real appreciation to any school of this grade, will be the quality of the students it sends out...Keep doing the good job...

being the french based by name the language spoken by the children inside the premises is not much strict and the same they follow outside. The admin/- please see to it, even that will change the behaviour and character of the children in a more positive and even to parents. So many schools are running on their fluency why the lachatelaine should not improve.

To Ms.Lalithasahas.... Being an old student of the school i would like to bring to your notice that La Chatelaine is also Improving Rapidly...infact it has over taken almost all schools in Chennai by computerising itself....and many more upgrades u may have not heard about....infact La Chatelaine is still Improving and will always Keep Improving...

Mr.mukesh u r right but as far as language is concerned still it has not developed what the CBSE school pattern needs compulsarily.
The children shd speak english fluently atleast from 8th std. but our school is not concentrating on spoken this will spoil the childrens future improvement when they go for higher studies.Grammer shd be specified from the kinderlevel, Otherwise our school is as u said that i can proudly accept. thanks mukesh

I've no idea about Think Quest and it looks like it's quite late to post a comment. They seem to have been unfair to the team.
I'm a very old student of the school belonging to the 1996 batch. Will tell all my old friends to look at it. Our heartfelt ragards to our beloved then Principal, now Correspondent. Email: lenin@laks.in
